What is teaching

According to the dictionary teaching is "the act or profession of a person who teaches." but this doesnt really tell us anything about what it is, after that long discussion in class im still not sure what it is but if I had to think of a working definition I think it is the act of imparting knowledge about subjects and inspiring habits that will allow people to gain knowledge on their own.

Critical thought

Don't most schools already stress critical thinking as a major part of curriculum?

Standardized testing as a means of measuring

Is there a possibility of making any kind of standardized test that can truly measure anything besides math ability?
